Citizen's Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA): CHAPA is a statewide advocacy organization with a wealth of information on legislation, resources, training, etc on affordable housing issues. CHAPA's core activities span four main areas - Housing Advocacy, Research, Community Education and Training, and Coalition Building.

Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA): MAHA is a statewide non-profit that works to encourage state and local governments and businesses to invest more money in affordable housing. MAHA's work in Needham includes building local support for the development of affordable homeownership opportunities and advocating for state funding for affordable housing programs. MAHA offers classes in Buying A Home, Owning A Home and Growing Your Money and manages an online database of all affordable homeownership opportunities in the state (www.MassAffordableHomes.org).

The Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC): NOI is a member of MACDC, the policy and capacity-building arm of the community development movement in Massachusetts. It supports and advances the affordable housing, economic development and community-building strategies of its members and works to build the power of low and moderate income people to achieve greater economic, social and racial justice.

(DHCD): DHCD makes state and federal funds and technical assistance available to strengthen communities and help them plan new developments, encourage economic development, revitalize older areas, improve local government management, build and manage public housing, stimulate affordable housing through the private sector, and respond to the needs of low-income people.

Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP): MHP is a statewide public non-profit affordable housing organization that works in concert with the Governor and the state Department of Housing and Community Development to help increase the supply of affordable housing in Massachusetts. MHP offers the SoftSecond Loan Program, a first-time homebuyers mortgage program for families of low and moderate incomes. Using its bank-funded loan pool, they provide long-term financing for the development and preservation of affordable rental housing. And, MHP's Community Housing Initiatives team works with communities, local housing groups and non-profit developers on local housing initiatives.

MassHousing: MassHousing is the state's affordable housing bank. They lend money at rates below the conventional market to support affordable rental and home ownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents of Massachusetts. MassHousing relies on private non-profit and for-profit developers and management companies to build and operate the rental housing that they finance. They also partner with an extensive network of approved lenders to deliver their home mortgage programs to first-time home buyers.
